| The Star Wars: Iron Division Rules General Site Guidelines
- I. The official language is English, if another language is used provide an immediate translation. We also require that you at least attempt to use proper grammar.
- II. Posts must be made appropriately and in the correct areas.
- III. OOC insults, flames and outright harassment won't be tolerated. Such behaviour is acceptable ingame between characters witbhin reason, but if it attacks a player, rather than the character, it's unacceptable.
- IV. Along with the previous rule, don't provoke are agitate people. This includes baiting people into arguments with no just cause. It should also be noted that all arguments should be taken to the Aggressive Negotiations forum, the chat is meant to be open and friendly to all.
- V. Role Palying with description is accepted. But if it contains overt sexual content, and/or gory violence, it's unacceptable.
- VI. Advertising out of site material is not tolerated. We have sections for this sort of material, which are exempt from this rule.
- VII. Content within private communications are considered confidential. Don't post them without permission from all communicators and a staff member.
- VIII. Don't share your account or character with others. This also extends to you not being able to give away, or sell your account and/or character. In dire circumstances, a staffer will take over said account(s) and/or character(s).
Role Play Guidelines
- I. People who don't have finished character that are approved, can't post in the Role Play category.
- II. Don't edit your posts after someone has edited, it can disrupt the whole topic. Ask for the permission of all of those involved. Not doing so can void the entire topic.
- III. Power Playing, controlling another player's character or NPC without explicit permission, is not tolerated.
- IV. Power Modding, making your character invulnerable or otherwise all-powerful, is not tolerated.
- V. Meta Gaming, making your character know information they never learned, or all-knowing, is not tolerated.
- VI. OOC comments in a role playing thread must have a seperate OOC topic.
- VII. You can be in two Role Play topics at once, but only one battle.
- VIII. In topics a clear posting-order must be established, usually in order of when said players joined. If a player hasn't posted within forty-eight (48) hours, give them a warning. If they don't post, or confirm they're posting in the next several minutes, continue the order, but skipping them.
- IX. There is a minimum of posting one paragraph per post. A paragraph consists of four, full sentences.
- X. No topics are private, but one may take precautions from others joining. It is generally advisable to ask before joining any role playing thread.
- XI. If making a solo-RP for whatever reason, please use the following template at the end. As a request, you can basically fill out anything. Solo-RPs are usually used to advance characters, so make full use of it! Also, despite the name "Solo", a staffer can get involved as an NPC.

| Character Creation
This is not a rigid guideline, just a little bit to help. - Common Occupations:
- Assassin: An assassin, also known as a problem solver, exterminator, and as a slayer. Assassins are people who intentionally kills a person for pay or personal motive. This is most often public or political figures and done for pay.
- Cartographer: A cartographer is a person who practices cartography, the making of maps. Cartographers are explorers by nature, exploring existing areas to update maps and new regions to create maps. Cartographers' lives are dangerous, but wealthy. Corporations are willing to pay a lot for possibly finding new resources and markets.
- Cutter: A cutter is a person who sells spice, and often prepared it for use. Rarely do they obtain the spice themselves, but from a supplier. Cutters can live wealthy, but very dangerous lives.
- Free-Trader: A free-trader is a person who trades in commodities produced by others, in order to earn a profit. They operate independently, and often hold bizarre inventories.
- Informant: An informant is a person who provides priviledged information about a person or organization. Sometimes referred to as spies, but the label is incorrect, as informants are employed legally. The informant's illegal counterpart, however, is the spy.
- Mercenary: A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict, but is motivated by private gain, essentially pay or promise of it.
- Privateer: A privateer is a person or organization that is authorized by a government to attack the foreign shipping of governments hostile to the issuing government. Privateering is used as a way to mobilize armed ships and sailors without spending treasury resources or committing naval officers. The privateer's illegal counterpart, the pirate, is not authorized by any government and raids indiscriminately.
- Slicer: A slicer is a person who seeks and exploits weaknesses in a computer system or computer network. Slicers may be motivated by a multitude of reasons, such as profit, protest, or the mere challenge.
