| The Bounty Hunters' Guild is an institution chartered by the Galactic Republic (and afterwards, tolerated or granted monopoly by local governances) that regulates the bounty-hunting trade. OrganizationThe Bounty Hunters' Guild is organized into grades of bounty hunters, with 1st Grade being the best in the galaxy. The major houses of old are no more, although unofficial internal factions still exist. The guild is led by the Guildmaster, the members are bound to the guildmaster and the guild by the Bounty Hunters' Creed. - 1st Grade Bounty Hunters: 1st grade hunters are the very best in the galaxy. Many enter retirement if they reach this stage, as those who do are usually reaching venerability due to the time it takes to reach this grade. They hold three votes and a veto power in the Guild Council. These hunters pay even less tribute, only giving 5% to the guild. They also receive a pension for their great service.
- 2nd Grade Bounty Hunters: 2nd grade hunters are very seasoned members. In order to become one, they must be voted in by the Guild Council. They hold two votes in the Guild Council as senior members. They pay less tribute, only giving 10% to the guild.
- 3rd Grade Bounty Hunters: 3rd grade hunters are veteran members, usually have at least a dozen (usually a few dozen) bounties completed. Due to their experience they join the Guild Council as a member, the executive, judicial, and legislative body of the guild. They also pay less tribute, only giving 20% to the guild.
- 4th Grade Bounty Hunters: After a 5th grade hunter has completed his first bounty, he can become a 4th grade hunter. If approved, the hunter is considered a full member, receiving all of the protections and privileges that come with it. First, they receive legal protection should a bounty have odd legal implications. Second, they have access to an exclusive list of bounties available to only members. Third, they pay less tribute, only giving 25% to the guild.
- 5th Grade Bounty Hunters: Any person is accepted into the Bounty Hunters' Guild at this grade. This rank is the application process, where they can become full bounty hunters. This rank was created due to the sheer amount of bounties in the galaxy, and requiring all the hands the guild can possibly get. These hunters only get 50% of the bounty, 50% of it going to the guild as tribute.
- The Bounty Hunters' Creed:
- Kill Or Capture, Not Both: An acquisition is either captured, or killed, not both. To capture an acquisition to only then kill an unarmed, helpless, and subdued person is murder, and will be treated as such.
- No Bounty Is Worth Dying For: Simply put, no bounty is worth ones own life. No matter how great of a reward, it can't be spent dead.
- No Hunter Shall Slay Another Hunter: Bounty Hunters are special, they are rare and dwindling. They take their lives and their acquisition's lives into their own hands, and shouldn't take up arms against each other. To do so and murder a fellow hunter, the offending member is cast out, and considered an acquisition themselves.
